Although the course is not accredited in South Africa, it does adhere to the highest of International standards, as set forth by The Accrediting Council for Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA) and Christian Quality Assurance (CQA), of which Timothy Training Institute is a member. Timothy Training institute is also a member of The Association of Christian Theological Schools (ACTS).
May I use the title "Ps." or "Rev.", after successfully completing the course?
Timothy Training Institute is an independent, non-denominational Christian organization, which means that we are not affiliated with any church or Christian group. In order to "legally" use the title of pastor or reverend, a person must be ordained as a minister of religion, by a pastor/reverend of a church. It is for this reason that we advise students to talk to their local church pastors/reverends to discuss the possibility of being ordained. Timothy Training Institute cannot accept any responsibility, should the local church not be willing to ordain TTI students for any reason whatsoever. Timothy Training Institute is however, negotiating an agreement with a ministry, who would be willing to ordain TTI's students after successfully completing the 3-year course. Please contact TTI's head office fore more information regarding this matter.
Are exams and modules available in other languages?
Unfortunately exams are only available in English. If you would like to offer your services to translate our exams, please register as a Volunteer.
The 3-year course is available in many languages. Please contact the head office, should you decide to not enrol in English.
What is the shortest/longest time I may take to complete the 3-year course?
Timothy Training Institute has an outstanding method set in place by which we train local church leaders in a class, conducted by an accredited TTI Tutor. When studying in a class, it is recommended that church leaders should follow the programme and complete the course at the end of year 3.
Timothy Training Institute also encourages "self-study". Any Christian may apply as a "DIY" (Do it yourself) student and may therefore complete the 3-year course on his/her own pace. Therefore DIY students may complete the course in as little as one year, but no more than 5 years. Students, who do not complete the full 3 year course within this period, will have to redo the entire course.
For more information, please read our "Rules and Regulations"
What happens when I cannot study, due to unforeseen circumstances?
As a ministry organization, Timothy Training Institute knows that "life happens". We therefore only request that students contact the TTI head office or their tutor, with an explanation. TTI will gladly assist wherever possible. If you have any prayer requests, please send them to us.
