Timothy Training Institute's mission and vision is to equip church leaders for full-time ministry (2 Timothy 2:2) and not to train academics. The 3-year course is therefore not accredited, but students wishing to further their studies may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) at any tertiary institution, as governed by Law 101 of 1997. Timothy Training Institute has agreements with Accredited Theological Institutions in South Africa (which presents courses up to Masters- and Doctorate level) and students are welcome to contact TTI's head office for more information on how to further their studies, through these Institutions.
Although the course is not accredited in South Africa, it does adhere to the highest of International standards, as set forth by The Accrediting Council for Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA) and Christian Quality Assurance (CQA), of which Timothy Training Institute is a member. Timothy Training institute is also a member of The Association of Christian Theological Schools (ACTS).
The length of the course is 3 years. Therefore it needs to be completed within a maximum period of 5 years. Students, who do not complete the full 3 year course within this period, will have to redo the entire course. The course is available in many languages. Please contact the head office, should you decide to not enrol in English.
Students will have to contribute to the expenses incurred by Timothy Training Institute, should official visits or graduations be presented and TTI’s personnel be invited. The fees payable will be communicated with the appropriate TTI Tutor, before the proposed visit or graduation.
Timothy Training Institute expects every student to be a witness of God’s love in their lives and to lead an exemplary Christian life for everyone to see. Should anyone find that TTI students are not living up to these standards, Timothy Training Institute may insist on a disciplinary hearing, which may lead to disciplinary action being taken.
Students will not be allowed to change their name or surname after enrolling, regardless of either marriage or divorce.
